August 20, 2008: The visit over the weekend to Gulu by former Mozambique President Joachim Chissano (right) , the UN Special Envoy to LRA-affected areas, has raised hope of the successful conclusion of peace talks between the Government of Uganda and the Lord’s Resistance Army.
During the two days, Chissano held talks with northern Uganda leaders as well as visited Laminawino village, one of the return sites for the IDPs who he told about the new move to revive the Juba peace process. Read the rest of this entry »

Gulu, May 14, 2008: Joseph Kony, the LRA rebel leader, has once again frustrated leaders who braved the hazardous journey to Ri-Kwangba and slept rough for three days waiting to meet him, by failing to show up. The leaders decided to return to Juba today (Wednesday). Read the rest of this entry »
