LRA Chief Negotiator Calls for Dialogue

 In reaction to the determination of UPDF to capture LRA leader Joseph Kony alive, David Nyekorach Matsanga (pictured) contacted us a short while ago and refuted the claim that Kony is in DRC.

UPDF Commandos boarding a military chopper to hunt down LRA rebels

The UPDF in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) are upbeat to capture the elusive LRA rebel boss Joseph Kony and his top commanders alive. They have also maintained that they would continue with operation “Lightning Thunder” against LRA rebels in the jungle of Garamba, quashing several reports in the media that they were supposed to quit DRC today, Sunday the 8th February. Ugandan Cabinet Approves shs 150 Billion for Northern Uganda

 Kampala, February 5, 2009

 (Ultimate Media) The Minister of State in charge of Northern Uganda, David Wakikona has revealed that cabinet has approved 150 billion shillings for the implementation of the Peace, Recovery and Development plan (PRDP) for Northern Uganda.

 In a press statement today (February 5), Wakikona said the government is committed to the recovery and development efforts in northern Uganda.
