Chissano’s planned meeting with Kony raises spirits in Gulu

August 20, 2008: The visit over the weekend to Gulu by former Mozambique President Joachim Chissano (right) , the UN Special Envoy to LRA-affected areas, has raised hope of the successful conclusion of peace talks between the Government of Uganda and the Lord’s Resistance Army.

During the two days, Chissano held talks with northern Uganda leaders as well as visited Laminawino village, one of the return sites for the IDPs who he told about the new move to revive the Juba peace process. Read the rest of this entry »

Hon Angiro clashes with police over arrest of suspected child molesters

Lira NGO to suspend operations over demo

Young people advised to save for the future

The youth in northern Uganda should develop a culture of saving if they are to become economically empowered.

Twenty town premises without toilets closed
