The Director of Radio Unity FM 97.7, Jimmy Onapa Louise commonly known as DJ Cool, has accused Lira District Land Board and some key stakeholders of discrimination. The allegation follows various obstacles encountered by Dj Cool in securing space to build a radio and TV station.

“Radio Unity as helped a lot in fighting corruption in Lango and to communicate issues that are crucial for Lango. But whenever I ask for Land to build this radio station, some people look at it as is I am putting up my own business” Onapa said.

He stressed that he wants to help Lango, but some people have a tendency of bringing Lango down. He appealed for help from stakeholders and supporters of Radio Unity in securing land for the station.

Dj cool said an organization wants to sponsor a very big project as part of Northern Uganda Reconstruction Program but that progress is being hampered by lack of space.

Onapa wondered whether Langi are cursed and vowed to reveal how he was conned by a certain Lango lady who is staying UK, through her brother who had promised to find him land.

Onapa also criticised Lira District Chairman Franco Ojur who never fulfilled the promise he made on radio to give him land.

  1. Hi, i do see what the problem here is all about, well i do not understand why land can not be provided for projects like this, its for the better of the community.

So does this also mean that if i was to try and buy Land in order to open up my HQ in Lira, i am more than likely to not get it??

For example, as far as my research for years, i do find that people from the North are not well catered for, i was thinking of investing Billions in Lira and other Northern regions as well, this would bring this region up very fast and my vision of Lira and the surrounding is to be more like a trading centre of Uganda, similar to some European Countries,

To be able to give Modern Apprenticeship/trainings for people of the North, working as International traders and buyers among others jobe. provide public transports, water systems, Hydroelectricity, better roads, sewer systems, cheaper internet/digital TV/phones (Cable).

Developments of Schools (New Universities, Secondary, Primary, Nursery, this would also include some findings from here in UK/EU and US.

Opening Development Banks for Farmers (Non profit organization)

    Business Banking/Personal.

Obviously all the above would be controlled from the UK to make sure every one gets a share.

So my questions is, to bring such projects to benefit the North, is it so wrong to do so? If Land can not be provided, this needs to change.
