Life Water International donates water kits to Amolatar

Bionsand filters worth 80 million shillings have been donated to Amolatar district in a bid to reduce water shortage.

Pastor Vincent Okeng, the project coordinator  on  July 3, 2008 said that  the biosand filters were donated by Life Water International, an American- based organisation,  to reduce death that are caused by water related  diseases in the district.

Okeng explained, “Water is life. What the communities received is a blessing and I urge the beneficiaries to keep the water kits and sustain the project well because the district needs a lot of clean water.”

“We need to work hard to end water scarcity in Amolatar that is why we are working day and night to bring incubator and assortment to help the needy people,” said Okeng.

He said the project is expected to benefit more than 8000 households leaving in landing sites of Muntu, Naibyata, Kampala and Kitaleba in Muntu Sub County.

He added that Joy Drilling, a local partner organisation of Life Water International, has designed a work plan to extend biosand filter water project other landing sites to provide clean water to the communities who are drinking water from Lake Kyoga.

He thanked the government for providing a free environment to donors, private sector, investor, NGOs who have contributed in the development of the Country.
