THE vice chairperson of Apac district council Bob Okae has praised President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for allowing National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS) programs to continue despite his earlier statement to stop it.

Opening a one-day consultative meeting on the implementation of the new NAADS program in the district on Friday May 29, Okae said Apac district council would this time ensure that NAADS succeeds.

The meeting was organised by the office of the district NAADS coordinator Mr. Lawrence Ego and facilitated by Agnes Obua and Felix Ogwang from NAADS secretariat.

Okae said NAADS nearly failed because political monitoring was not involved in the process and they (politicians) were completely sidelined from the process.

Obua however said the president is furious about failure of NAADS in the first stage and that is why he wanted to stop it. She said the president is currently going round the country to see the implementation of government programs.

Assistant CAO in charge NAADS Francis Ateng reiterated on the effective implementation of government programs by the district officials, maintaining that they will begin sucking the junior staffs who do not carry out the work effectively before the matter reaches the president.

The district NAADS coordinator however said the meeting was called to popularise NAADS program which will cover the all district in the next financial year according to the new government plan.

The meeting was attended by district councilors, all sub county chiefs, LC3 chairpersons, sub county NAADS coordinators, heads of departments and opinion leaders drown from all sectors.
